Peter offers no other credentials, but that he is an Apostle of Jesus Christ. He writes in the present tense, so in his mind he is an Apostle of the living and risen Christ. This means Peter was receiving instruction from the Holy Spirit in his day to day life. Peter would be addressing Jews and non Jews, otherwise his vision on the roof of the Centurion 's house would have meant nothing. The vision was given to him by his Lord and as an Apostle of Jesus Christ he had no theological position other that of His Lord and Savior. Salvation is for all who call upon the name of the Lord. The Lord is long suffering and not willing that any should perish, but all should come to everlasting life.

Doesn't matter what I think of 1 Peter1:1 OR ANY PART OF THE BIBLE. I JUST BELIEVE IT MEANS EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS.
