i meant touch isnt needed to have spiritual interaction. not unless your led to by his spirit. we should not fear laying of hands.

a friend of mine thinks it has to do with the transference of unclean spirits but i dont think touch is needed to have such a spirit interact with you. when the bleeding woman touched Jesus garment healing power came out of him and she was made whole. HE was not made impure as the law of the old. Sin is a sickness and we are told to lay hands on the sick but we should be considerate of people and their personal space and try to build eachother up in the Word and helpn eachother Not to sin. By His righteousness, we are healed. Not by our own so lets let his fruit operate in us.

This verse means that one shouldn't lay hands on
a man for public ministry to quickly without a thorough
investigation. He needs to be suitable and qualified for
the office of an overseer/pastor/elder. Nor share in other
people's sins: this means the sin of hasty ordination which
makes those responsible culpable for the man's sin of serving
as an unqualified elder and thus misleading people.Keep yourself pure: this means" free from sin"

Gerald's comment on 2011-05-03 22:19:21:

I agree with Dan in that this scripture speeks in reference to accusations made against another and we should not be hasty in involving ourselves for fear of being part of another mans prejudice, and therefore another mans sin. This is my interpretation of 1 Tim. 5:22. I also beleave that we as Christians should apply this teaching not only with church members but with all people.

Dan's comment on 2011-05-01 06:24:47:

I think all the commentaries are wrong in with this interpretation. I believe that "lay hands suddenly on no man" refers to the context of scripture starting with v.19 "Against an elder - Or presbyter. Do not even receive an accusation..." I believe the Apostle is saying to lay your hands on someone as to punish because of some accusation, and your prejudice against anyone (an elder or presbyter especially). We must be absolutely sure of the truth before we make a decision to punish someone in the church.
