God rewards them that diligently seek Him by giving us knowldge, understanding, and wisdom. We must increase in wisdom and in favor with God as did Jesus. Luke 2 52

I think this verse is saying that without the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior we will die but with it we will have eternal life
