Richard in Christ's comment on 2021-04-11 09:55:04:

Zephaniah 1:14. The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.

Zephaniah 2:3. Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.

2 Corinthians 4:5-7. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Amen.

Amen! Praise God!

Drea's comment on 2021-04-10 20:38:45:

That's a great assessment- the soul seat of our emotions and the spirit working together. My testimony is this the scripture The Lord gave me when I was afflicted in my body. I kept healing scriptures before me, but this one scripture showed me that He cares about my situation and that He was EAGER to heal me. Surely it happened but I now see this scripture in a different light. He is a source of life and love. He doesn't come to condemn us but to set us free.

I Timothy 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Millie Armiger Johnson's comment on 2020-09-13 13:40:22:

So this scripture in 1 john 3 regarding his wish that our health just as our soul prospers. So if I read carefully just now . Our soul is our emotions and reacts to what the spirit tell us. So the two can actually work together.

Richard's comment on 2020-09-09 22:21:33:

The Bible is clear in the fact that we can only prosper and be in good health if our ways PLEASE God and we strive continuously to be like Jesus dying daily pressing towards heaven with all our heart.

John 15:7

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

King James Bible: If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Christian Standard Bible: If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you.

SO, if your lifestyle pleases God and you live 24/7 for God and you seek first the kingdom of God (matthew 6:33) then above ALL things you will prosper and be in good health. God cannot work with someone luke warm, he will vomit them from him (Revelation 3:16)

Yemisi's comment on 2014-01-31 07:07:30:

Apostle John was expressing the provision of God for his people.he was simply 'wishing' that we would stand up and posess our good health ,knowing fully well that a healthy body/ is needed for productivity in Life, and you need to be spiritually sound to keep health. Shalom.

Rosie. Westbrook's comment on 2013-12-21 03:49:34:

Yes i believe. God wants us to believe he wants us to be in good health and our soul prosper but he also want us to have that faith thats going to get us thru when something comes too waiver our faith he only want us to have the grain of a mustard

Samson's comment on 2013-11-21 11:03:31:

Most of the time people are more after the material things of this world than the prosperity of their souls

lorie hudson's comment on 2013-11-12 12:27:55:

I have no doubt that we would be undermining the huge cost that Christ paid to think that it was payment for anything less than "ALL" and All means ALL-He paid to purchase back everthing that was forfeited at the fall-now it is our responsibility to TAKE it back-How? We walk by Faith not by sight-the moment His promise is sown in our hearts the enemy makes every attempt to steal that good seed. Grace is the soil in which the seed grows-we don't earn what has been already provided we TAKE IT! by faith-it is a gift. Every blessing is a gift-lest any man should boast. The enemy uses guilt, condemnation, distraction, the cares of this world and anything he can to steal the seed. It is our responsibility to guard our heart/seed from all the above-after doing all to stand therefore-STAND!Don't give up-don't forfeit His promise to you of health/prosperity/blessing-Fight the good fight of Faith

DOREEN's comment on 2013-10-27 11:21:15:

powerful, first seek the kingdom of God others shall surely come

Grace's comment on 2013-10-13 23:55:34:

Our God is a merciful God, full of loving kindness and unconditional love for mankind. His every wish for us, is to prosper in ' all things' including a 'totally healthy body mind and soul'. It follows therefore that, an unhealthy body and mind cannot nurture a healthy soul! We must continuously rise above the evil and wickedness of this earth, to preserve our souls fit for his kingdom. That is my understanding of God's desire and passion for us! I, glorify his holy name!

God wants us to enjoy only the best things in life...good health and every other thing that makes us comfortable...Amen.

Margaret's comment on 2013-07-22 08:29:17:

I believe God is strategically encouraging us to pay close attention to His Words because His Words have life. He's not saying that we will all have prosperity and good health, but that is His unfailing desire for us. There are other components, such as, obedience and love involved in getting the prosperity and good health mentioned in 3 John 1:2.

Christy's comment on 2013-05-21 18:44:05:

I think the Lord is wishing us health in all areas of our life, body, soul and mind. It does not matter who said it but every word that is spoken in the bible is by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

ANITA VINCENT's comment on 2013-01-25 01:55:08:

John is telling what is right to the man of God to do.
