The Hebrew word translated as strength is probably idiomatic for spiritual maturity. Only one Biblical character seemed stronger in his old age and that was Caleb who took on the giants in Judea. Where are the others? Whereas the idea of growing spiritually mature is progressive as we continue to study God 's Word as we gracefully age.

I think that this verse is explained by Deuteronomy 29:5 and Nehemiah 9:21. Shoes were for their daily walk. They would have all that they needed to succeed and prosper in life, and they would have enough strength to handle all that they would encounter in the days of their life.
