The meaning of this passage is clear, and it's a lesson lost on a very large number of people. It isn't talking about music styles and movies, either. Old men back then would have been more concerned with morality, prosperity, and security, which are the same things people worry about today.

Christians can be too quick to cast any attempt at having perspective as "relativism."
