Compare this and 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 "the mystery of lawlessness", and Colossians 3:5-7, with 1 John 3:4, which us the definition of sin. Furthermore, the whole letter of 1 John ties God's law together with love. An analogy would be: An Archer who is aiming at the target of righteousness God's ten commandments , contrasted with the one who is aiming at another target unrighteousness . Neither hit the bullseye perfectly 100 of the time, but each practice shooting one or the other target.

this of course is referring to Satan the Devil. He is the prince of the power of the air. He broadcasts his attitude to mankind like a tv signal transmits over the airwaves directly to the tv set. the same way he got to Eve. he caused Eve to doubt God. It was all very subtle. He put doubts in her mind.

the verse to me means that man is hibitual in the pursuit of carnal desires, and because of sin men who continue to act in disobedience after they have come to salvation are children and sons of God but have allowed Satan's demontic influence to once again have control in their lives, which sapartes them from God's presents and they are compared to children of unbelief, to which the wrath of God is aganist.

This is man's battle with stitural wicknees, the flesh, and free will. God is requiring man to make a choice to be blessed or cursed, receive spititual life or death, to be hoily or sinful.

God want's man's obedience but does not force his choice but He does provide in this verse the info rmation we need to know that the God of that influneces disobedience is Satan and makes it clear that our faith and trust in God deliverses us form the power of Satan.

This verse in modern day seems to me to be directed at a person who used to spend time watching television or on a computer doing bad things. This person now walks with Jesus and realizes the Prince of the waves is Satans way to lead his people. I personally believe the computer is the mark of the beast.
