Mishael on Ten Commandments's comment on 2020-06-27 20:15:33:

Exodus 20 or Deuteronomy 5

These books contain the Ten Commandments. I would compare both.

The Bible is the best reference book to use for study. All the books contained in it, were canonized.

Also, Jesus gave us 2 more commandments in the Gospels.

Chris can tell you details about the process.

Conchita's comment on 2020-06-27 07:30:24:

I was raised in the RC tradition, and taught that the 4th Commandment is "Honor thy father and thy mother." Why, in this Bible trivia, is the 4th Commandment "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy?" In the RC tradition, that is the 3rd Commandment. I compared this chapter of the King James version, with the Douay Rheims version, and, both versions seem to state the 4th Commandment as I was taught. I am confused. Please clarify this for me. I was taught the Commandments as follows:

1. I am the LORD thy God, thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

2. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD, thy God in vain.

3. Remember thou keep holy the sabbath day.

4. Honor thy father and thy mother.

5. Thou shalt not kill.

6. Thou shalt not steel.

7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8. Thou shalt not bear false witness of thy neighbor.

9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife.

10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors goods.

Anything unnatural manmade is corrupted and does not give our Father His due reverence. Makes you wonder what He truly feels about the brick and mortar churches of today.
