I love Exodus 3:14 but really I love the entire Holy Bible because it is the word of God. I 've read it cover to cover 12 times. It took me 5 years.

Names have meanings. Jehovah God 's name also has a meaning. His name tells us that Jehovah will become what he needs to become to accomplish his purpose, and he will always prove true to his words. One Bible reference work stated: "To use a simple illustration: A mother may need to fill many roles each day in caring for her children as a nurse, a cook, a teacher according to the need that arises. It is similar with Jehovah, though on a more elevated level. In order to accomplish his loving purpose for mankind, he can become whatever he pleases, filling whatever role is needed. Knowing Jehovah by name thus involves understanding and appreciating his many roles. "

Question: If the Self is itself aware, why am I not aware of it even now? Bhagwan Ramana Mahrishi s Answer: There is no duality. Your present knowledge is due to the ego and is only relative. Relative knowledge requires a subject and an object, whereas the awareness of the Self is absolute and requires no object. Remembrance also is similarly relative, requiring an object to be remembered and a subject to remember. When there is no duality, who is to remember whom? The Self is ever-present. Each one wants to know the Self. What kind of help does one require to know oneself? People want to see the Self as something new. But it is eternal and remains the same all along. They desire to see it as a blazing light etc. How can it be so? It is not light, not darkness. It is only as it is. It cannot be defined. The best definition is I am that I am . The srutis scriptures speak of the Self as being the size of one s thumb, the tip of the hair, an electric spark, vast, subtler than the subtlest, etc. They have no foundation in fact. It is only being, but different from the real and the unreal it is knowledge, but different from knowledge and ignorance. How can it be defined at all? It is simply being. PS This is mentioned In the Bible by the Lord! American King James Version - Exodus Chapter 3 Verse 14 And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.

Just want to share something unique with you. Do you think it is a coincident that the among the four Great Truths or the Maha Vaakyas of the Vedas, we have in the statements THAT TAT and I AM AHAM 1 TAT TWAM ASI Sanskrit THAT Thou Art English 2 AHAM BRAHMASMI Sanskrit I AM BRAHMAN English 3 AYAM ATMA BRAHM Sanskrit This Atma is Brahman English 4 PRAGYAANAM BRAHM Sanskrit - The highest Wisdom is Brahman English THAT or TAT is a word or name of the Lord which represents the totality of all the universes. This includes all the universes physical and subtle spiritual, all the energies contained in these universes as well as time. THAT is actually the seed from which everything has emanated. It is a realty which the human mind, it is said cannot comprehend nor fathom. Please note the close almost identical Sanskrit and English sounds! The verse occurs identical as it is below. Amazing!!!! I have included that part of the Bible so you can view it for yourself. American King James Version - Exodus 3 - Verse 14 And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.

I am that I am is the ultimate description of the nature and relevance of God. The creator of all things who was not created by anybody and does not need anybody to exist or survive. Omnipotent, Alpha and omega, the terrible and mighty one, yet God is love, compassionate and merciful. I Am is his name. Thank you Lord.

That 's why God should be the only worshipper in every one 's mind. But that 's not the way it is people have too much upon their heart. God is a very jealous God. Thats the reason why whoever takes his name in vain has to pay a price for it.we must be careful!!!.

Exodus 3:14 - Answer the fundamental question of Deity. I am That I am simply means He The Mosh High God Who was in the beginning Elohim, Yahweh, Jehovah and then Jesus Christ (or Emmanuel) is now The Holy Spirit period.

Timothy Wayne George's comment on 2013-04-10 06:08:48:

Praise Jehovah God, the self existent one, and when Moses ask whom shall I say sent me, tell them that the I Am have sent thee. The Hebrew name for Jehovah is Yahweh. God who is from everlasting to everlasting, and never dependent on anyone. Therefore we are secure in Him, and can be sure that He will never change, and is the same today, and forevermore.

Thabile's comment on 2013-03-03 09:11:09:

I love this chapter, because we are so intricately entwined with God and in His image that, He allows us to describe ourselves and circumstances in the same manner. I am strong Joel 3:10, I am wonderfully and fearfully made, Ps139:14. Using I am to describe yourself with a negative connotation is using the Lord's name in vain! So one cannot say I am broke because that's not what/who God is! Describe yourself positively regardless of situations or feelings.

Akwasi's comment on 2012-09-29 03:07:57:

He is the MOST HIGH GOD THAT EVERY LIVING BEING NEEDS TO WORSHIP.
