Strong's gives the definition for the name of JEHOVAH as "(the) self-Existent or Eternal". This is essentially what the LORD said to Moses in Exodus 3:14, "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."

Previously he was called upon by names that referred to his interactions with his people, (Lord God, most high God, God seest me, etc.) .

God bless you Madubuike

God has step-by-step revealed Himself to man. In the garden of Eden Adam just knew Him as God (Elohim). Abraham called Him El-Shaddai (The great breasted One). To Moses it was revealed that He is Yahweh (Jehovah) meaning "I am". We today know Him as Yahshuah (Jesus) meaning "I am salvation".

Let us thank God for His mercy and worship God our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

Love in Christ

Does any one know the meaning of JEHOVAH?

This verse has to be in question form because if you go back into the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob it shows clearly in the Biblical text that when they were being blessed by Elohim, they all called on the Name YHWH! (the Lord)
