It certainly gives you a great perspective on Paul 's frame of mind and degree of conviction in his faith, at the time. More importantly however, he emphasizes how critical it becomes for followers of Christ to refrain from reverting back to Legalism which works counter to their faith in Christ and His sacrifice on the Cross and prevents them from justification.
