Read Matthew 16:8-12. Leaven is false doctrine. A little bit of false doctrine can affect the truth.

The "leaven" that is spoken of is not any one thing. It's influence of any kind. A little kindness can stop someone from suicide while a little hatred can ruin lives. Everyone influences someone somehow. Make a concious effort to use that influence; your peers and other people within your social realm notice you and what you do.
