I believe the Holy Spirit is the engrafted implanted Word, referred to in James 1 21, receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. The phrase save your souls, in this context, does not mean to save from eternal condemnation. It means to sanctify. Thus the child of God is commanded to receive i.e, accept the engrafted Word the Holy Spirit Who teaches us the written Word and impresses upon our heart truths that we need in order to grow. In other words, He sanctifies us through the Word. Jesus prayed, Sanctify them through thy truth thy word is truth John 17 17 .

So long as sin any type of offence towards God exists in one 's life, it is entirely impossible for the WORD of God to sink in and Stay in one 's heart to help the soul maintain justification and spotlessness before God.

Dr. John Ramey's comment on 2014-07-04 14:25:55:

The key to verse 21 of chapter 1 in James is "The Engrafted Word ". Only when the Word of God becomes part of you will you have the power to overcome sin. otherwise you will find yourself sinning with helpless regularity. I 've had people tell me, "I know I need to get into the Word more " and I always reply, "no! you need to get the Word into you " that 's the difference that James is telling his Hebrew brethren. You know the Word of God intellectually but you are not doing the Word of God! That is where we find Christians who can 't seem to ever get a break or a blessing in their life. They are not doing the Word of God, otherwise, making it a part of practical living. When the Word of God is grafted into your being so much so that you do the Word of God it will manifest in less sin and a multitude of life blessings. Jesus said, "If you know these things, happy are ye if you do them " John 13 17.

Remember what APOSTLE JAMES said in ves 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect low of liberty continueth therein but being not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work this man shall be blessed in his deed When you recived into your spirit the implanted word of GOD it will bring out in you the power the ability to overcome sin how can you overcome sin it is when you look into the word of GOD every days of your life The Bible is GOD s natural mirro that has the power to bring a change into YOUR life if you only look 100 continue every day of your life Now APOSTLE james telling you no mater what the devil is bringing into your ways never you be move but stand your grown in GOD s word i e the implanted word of GOD you will overcome the devil by the power in GOD s WORD

I believe that if you read the Word of God everyday it not only will you get close to God but that you will save your soul which is your mind by renewing your mind DAILY with his word

Timothy Wayne George's comment on 2013-03-03 18:13:27:

The basic meaning of superfluity is an overflow of evil. The Holy Spirit is teaching us through the Apostle James, that we must be doers of the word, and not hearers only. We must put away the overflow of evil in our lives, by receiving the implanted word of God, with meekness, which is able to save our souls. Jesus said man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. As we feed on the Word of God, the Spirit of God transforms us into a child of God. If any man is in Christ Jesus, he is a new creation, the old is gone, and all things become new. II Cor. 5:17
