We might have thought that in prayer we were safe from sin. Not so. The pharisee in the temple was praying and sinning as he lifted himself in pride over the publican near him. Jonah was praying and sinning when, sitting in pride on the outskirts of Nineveh, he asked God to take his life. And Jesus warned His followers to not behave in prayer as heathens or pharisees.
