These verses reveal a lot of Truth !

But with out the Spirit of truth you will not see it .

Christ is the the great I Am, He is forever present. He created the world, and all that is in it. Even though Christ created the people and the world, the people he created rejected him. Those who rejected him and refused to recognize the light were unbelievers living in darkness. They knew of His coming it had been pointed to them by those God had chosen to prepare the people for the coming Messiah. The coming of the Messiah had been pointed to throughout the Old Testiment by those who God had chosen (His own) to prepare the rest of the world for the coming Messiah they too rejected Him. I take it that "His own" is talking either about those who had been saved in that that had received Jesus Christ into their hearts...OR... that perhaps His "blood" family rejected him. Either way I can certainly relate because our two sons have rejected us and we have no earthly idea why. Rejection is one of the most painful things on earth especially when it's "your own".
