In the book of Isiah God said I am God and beside me the is no other. In hebrews c 1 vs 2 He said in the last days He will speak to the people through His Son by whom He made the Worlds. In John chp 3 vs 16 for God so loved the world that He gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON that who so ever believed in Him should have everlasting life. IF THERE IS NO SON THERE IS NO SACRIFICE. In Rev chp 4 vs 9 - 11 the four beast and the 24 elders praise GOD and say Thou art worthy ,O Lord to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things and for Thy pleasure they are and were created. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO GIVE GOD CREDIT FOR HIS MIGHTY WORKS?

This verse has always puzzled me ...I think the young man was addressing what he saw as another human being in Jesus when he called him "good teacher " similar to Plato or Aristotle... Jesus knew his heart and answered him as a human being...in fact if the young man knew he was talking to God, he certainly would have given up all he had to follow Jesus.

The rich young ruler called Jesus good. Jesus responds: There is none good but God. The point is: Since there is none good but God, if Jesus is good, then He must be God. There is no denying that Jesus is good. He does not just do good things, He is good. He is inherently good because of His deity. Because of this, had the rich young ruler fully believed who He was and trusted Him, he would have been willing to do anything Jesus asked him to do.

It shows that Jesus was not God. Compare John 20:28. Jesus did not rebuke Thomas because as the writter of this chapter explained in the following verses who Jesus was. The son of God. John20:31
