As the mighty men mentioned in the Old Testament who obtained by warfare, they fought physical battles. So, in the New Testament we fight spiritual battles. The weapons of are warfare are not carnal, but, mighty through GOD, to the pulling down of strongholds.this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.

1. John the Baptist broke into a situation and took over -
like robbing a bank.
2. An inmate cleverly breaks through security - escapes -
and is out of prison.
3. From the 1920's to 1960's someone came to Hollywood -
broke through the difficulties - and became the owner of a
studio - such as Warner Brother's or Paramount - or just
became Elvis or the Beatles.
4. With your faith - break through your limitations -
break into heaven - and possess its treasures and blessings.
5. Look beyond your difficulties. See heaven. Be in it.
Walk as if you own it.

Jesse's comment on 2020-05-05 14:57:36:
Yes, I also get a sense that we are getting close to the end. And I agree that we are to stand against the wiles of the devil. But I don't think we need to fight Satan. He's already been defeated. Jesus defeated him in the wilderness when Satan tried to tempt Him, and He ultimately defeated him at the cross. You describe the armor of God as being powerful, and I completely agree with you on that. If we have put this armor on, how can Satan possibly defeat us? In order for him to defeat us, he would have to defeat Christ.
Putting on the whole armor of God means we put on Christ. He is our armor. That armor never comes off. He lives in us. All we have to do is stand, not fight. We don't have to fight Satan to keep our salvation. Satan cannot take our salvation from us. In order for him to do that, he would have to penetrate God's Spirit that dwells in us, and he can't do that. There is no need to fight him. He can touch our flesh, but he can't touch our spirit where Christ dwells. John 4:4 says greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. There's no need to fight. Stand, don't fight!
G Hillman's comment on 2020-05-05 10:06:33:
I believe the end times we are in the Lord is telling us we need to fight a great spiritual fight against our enemy the devil. We need to fight to keep our faith, fight to keep our salvation and be warriors. We need to put on the full armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. This armor is powerfully given to us by our Lord Jesus and described fully in Ephesians 6:10-18 by the Apostle Paul who had the spirit of God.
George's comment on 2015-05-11 09:08:55:
Since Christ never endorsed violence except possibly in His zeal for purity in The Temple -- I am not a passifist , and because there are many other scriptures that state how pro-active and aggressive we need to be to "fully " experience the blessings of Kingdom life like, "take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ " - I will be working on that one my whole life ,...it seems to me that when I type Violence, almost all the references I see have to do with evil men and their agendas. Now, we know that much violence was done to advance God 's agenda under the Old Testament to route out evil in many aspects and forms and this is certainly a principle for us to be ruthless with sin, doubt, temptations, etc. today. Yet the passage is in the context of John about to lose his head, at the hands of a very violent, evil man. So,...in a nutshell, it seems to me this passage MAY be a statement of fact and warfare that began ref. the new "kingdom " at the time of John the Baptists ' arrival. This kingdom will and is suffering violence like Johns ' upcoming beheading and then through all the martyrs though human history since AND Violent Men and this is a bit harder take or seize it not enter, but sieze or stop or seek to destroy...possibly via Force! And this is the pattern we see regarding Christs ' kingdom from the beginning till now - even today. Men of Violence, wicked, powerful leaders often seek to snuff out this kingdoms ' advancement - in China, Korea, Russia the list goes on and on throughout this time in His-story history. Just some thoughts - I don 't know for sure.

I believe what Jesus was saying was that from the days Of John the Baptist til now was a battle to get to the kingdom of Heaven because people including John judged the rights and wrongs of other people so seeing all as sinners the kingdom had to be taken by force That is why we should be servants of all and condemners of none and in Heaven we will be greater than he
Biill Manuel's comment on 2014-03-09 16:31:18:
The kingdom of heaven is not dependent upon the force of men for success or maintenance It is totally dependent upon God Christ and the Holy Spirit Violent people build so called churches having separated themselves from the body of Christ because they will not be subject to His discipline and thus spiritually and verbally rage against all wisdom and truth They are the kind who enter churches like lambs but underneath are ravening wolves The Bible instructs us to have no fellowship with such personalities but rather to reprove them They are bound to gain power over some perhaps even many congregations if they can by their own schemes because they are extremely versed at manipulation and devilish cunning The righteous would do well to not walk but run from such for of such is not the kingdom of heaven They are described by the righteous man Jude and he must have had first hand experience with them We would do well to heed his warning in the New Testament if we would walk with those who have their robes washed white in the blood of the lamb
john's comment on 2014-02-13 09:01:12:
This is my interpretation of this particular verse John was prepared from birth to witness support Jesus to the end of his life John got side tracked was eventually killed in prison for a matter not was not really relevant in the light of his original calling to live die with Jesus Paradoxically both men died prematurely Jesus indicated by his words that a new kind of person would grab hold of God s Providence people such as the early disciples who didnt have much training but were humble tried to support Jesus on earth When the first most prepared people fail to respond to God s calling then God uses a different strategy so men of force have to protect God Jesus s foundation the Kingdom of Heaven Unfortunately the same thing happened with the Second Coming of Christ those that were prepared failed to respond persecuted the returning Christ We dont learn from history Read the Divine Principle if you want to know who fulfills that role of the Second Coming of Christ

The meaning of the word suffers in this scriptures brings me to Matt. 19-14, "suffer the little children to come unto me. Suffer, meaning let.
I believe the scripture in question mean, to take Jesus at his words, stand on the word of God at all cost. Behold I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the powers of the enemy, and nothing by any wise shall hurt you. We have authority through Christ Jesus. So walk with authority and act that you have authority. The Kingdom allows us to go with the authority through the Blood of the Lamb. Take it,sometimes it not easy, but go at it such as with violence, stand, stand on the words of the Lord God Almighty!

From the time of John the Baptist...(mtt. 11:12)
Many believers don't think of the right exegesis of this one of the strongest verses in the Bible. Let's ask ourselves this question, "what prompted this statement by Christ?
Suffice it to say that what caused John to be put into the prison was his ability to confront evil despite the fact that the king was involved.
Let's look at this qualities of forceful men of whom John the baptist was one of:
1. Tenancity
2. Aggressiveness
3. Self denyal
4. Focus, and
5. Total Dependebility on God
Jesus said, " him that will follow me must deny himself first."
Consider the challanges the apostles and the early church fathers faced; then, you will understand what Jesus is talking about here.
