Richard in Christ's comment on 2021-03-06 23:45:23:
A good couple verses stating that "the law is not for the righteous". To be saved by Jesus Christ does not give us the right to live a life of willful sin as most here know. We are to remove ourselves from the world of sin and cleanse ourselves as the Holy Ghost is our helper. Living for the Will of God and doing what makes Him happy.
1 Timothy 1:5-10 5 Now the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
When we walk after the Spirit we are not under the law because there is no wrong in producing good fruit. The Lord knows our hearts and if our intentions are pure. He will forgive us if we make a mistake. Be humble.
God Bless.

Carleton's comment on 2020-08-12 01:24:09:
Sounds good Sammy! Parents should by example from an early age teach their children how to pray, so that someday God through his Son will call them like Samuel was called. Regarding praying out loud in public, likely there are times and places that it is okay and not just a show, but praying on the inside is always okay. God knows and neighbors know who prays for show or for love to the Father. Regarding those not only in present positions of leader ship but in times past too, praying for leaders to know and follow God's will will bring quiet to the land. When there is quiet in the land , more children old and young can hear the still small voice of God when he speaks to a person anywhere in earth, no matter their position for their own good. Let Christians carry the Gospel message through example and not worldly powers. :)
Sammy's comment on 2020-08-11 13:14:23:
Our present day President just sign an executive order to allow prayer back in the schools, keep praying that God use our leaders to do the right thing, no matter who sits on the throne of this country.

Thank you Mishael! I am thankful for Christian Schools. All three of my Children go or have gone all their school lives to a self funded Christian School where singing praises becomes a life long passion. Again, even under the most strict regulations these children sing where they can happily. As parents in the same home their singing in the background warms our hearts. God will always provide a way of encouragement for the Christian without unnecessary offense to the neighbor. As the Bible suggests praying for our leaders is a requirement of the Christian believer, but really it is our reasonable service with love in our hearts. For information sake I have not voted nor signed petitions since my conversion some 30 years ago. I would to send you a song if you like with a reply email address.
Thank you very much for your time this day and this KJV online help site!

Power of Praise and Song's comment on 2020-07-12 14:08:38:
In my experience, the Lord inhabits the praises and songs of His people. I believe in the power of praise.
I get healed and revved up, all at the same time.
I think we all should sign that petition. The attorney filing against this motion against the churches is Jay Sekulo: attorney to President Trump.
There's another petition for people who want choice for schools, for their kids. Parents choose what school they want their kids to attend. The states will have to adjust funding for violent schools that are dangerous for anyone to attend. It's not meant to hurt the people. It's meant to NOT keep throwing money away on a broken school system. It's meant to finally see schools improve as students and teachers pull out of this void of never having funds to improve school experience.

My grandson attends a public Christian school that is Choice funded. He learns a Bible scripture every day. The environment is safe; great Christian teachers; lots of outings to museums to learn of all the sciences; exposure to an environment that is able to lift up Jesus. I think it is great. God says: Choose + Life
So that you and your children may live.

These verses came to mind after writing the comment above.
Hebrews13:10-13
We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
Lazarus the poor man also remained without the gate until he died and was comforted in Abraham's bosom. :)

I love that the Lamb of God was fully nonresistant for (my good purpose as a thief on the cross) near his five wounds. I can sing this love in my heart and visible life no matter the world's directions.
Don39t Stop Singing in Our Chuches's comment on 2020-07-12 04:11:36:
I hope it's ok to send a request to everyone in here who cares about church freedoms.
I might remind that when the church was all fascinated by the launch to the moon, they didn't notice the old lady atheist that got the Bible, commandments and prayer kicked out of public schools.
Right now there is a Mandate being presented to our Congress, from the state of California:
TO STOP SiNGING in all Churches in the USA. Supposedly again it is for the safety of those who might be "exposed" to the virus as people sing. It is a violation of Christians first amendment rights.
So please exercise your rights to sign a Petition to Stop This Action before it is entered into Congress's calendar. Spread it around if you can.
Evil men prosper when good men do nothing. (Bible)

Otis, the closest verse I could find is in Genesis 1:29:
"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."
This was at the time when both man & animals were vegetarian in their diet. Then from chapter 9:3, mankind (i.e. from Noah onwards) it seems was authorized to eat meat. However, some Jews hold that God gave this permission grudgingly, but I don't understand the Scripture in this way. And I suppose, from those animals which were herbivorous, some of them became carnivores: but there's no Scripture to show that.

Jim B's comment on 2015-03-17 09:55:04:
I think that these word represent a challenge to all of us that being that through our behavior and gifts to others, we reach a state of being more of the person that Christ would ideally have us become. It means that "what we do, and how we treat our fellow man " really means something and important and not to be taken for granted. It is behaving as our Father would have us behave.

Richard's comment on 2014-10-13 18:31:17:
Christ revealed that in perfection there is no division,either between human beings or God for when division is claimed it always leads to tribalism and fragmentation which in turn leads to conflict.
Charles's comment on 2014-03-24 13:28:08:
To say that Jesus was only talking about people who are saved is a perversion of what he meant He came here for all people Not just the chosen ones The lost lambs were more important to him exactly because they were lost Some of these comments are obscene

We are called to be helpers whether it be through word deed worship or giving Christ died for all including the fatherless so that they may receive the father for the aldulterer so they may may become unalduterated for the theif and the addict so that they may become relevant but reformed Relevant to be once be the least and help the least that comes after them Let your light shine people of God so that men may see your good works and glorify God We are called to be holy a light that is set on top of the hill if the world helps it own how different are you

If you re thinking that Jesus only meant for us to help the saves or righteous then think about whom he served while on earth prostitutes tax collectors murderers We are to help without casting judgement on those we are helping
Johnny's comment on 2014-01-14 08:40:35:
Hi Genie and James, I think you are right. I can't see how Jesus would be commanding his followers to help all poor people like welfare queens or illegals or people who choose to get addicted to drugs or have babies without fathers. Those are bad people and don't like Jesus. Why would people be poor if they followed Jesus. Jesus gives his followers all! I know!
Kate's comment on 2013-10-10 06:48:30:
If we make the radical assumption, based on recent scientific discoveries, that when Jesus says this he is LITERALLY speaking of His connectedness with ALL of mankind, then there are profound implications to all His actions and statements. He no longer symbolically died for my sins; He chose to take on the suffering of being a mere man before Pilate and his enemies so that after I stood before my sister's anger denying that I felt anything; I could see the love and strength of his actions and the pitiful smallness of my own.
The Scriptures were written to be understood at that time. There is certainly no reason to think that God incarnate was unaware that we each carry in our cells the mitochondria of Eve that we will pass on to the last living human.
Evelyn's comment on 2013-09-27 21:31:08:
As Christians we need to remember when Jesus was in the community of man, many helped him both Jew and gentile. We should lead by example in how we treat others, being as Christ like as is possible for us, that we treat all with respect and care, no matter their situation - rich or poor or in between. I personally feel if more of us acted this way and put others before ourselves, there would be less hatred and greediness in the world.
Sadly, man seems to judge others by how they look or the evil acts of a few, rather than as all mankind are God's children.
