Brother Richard,
May the Lord bless you richly as well. And thanks for those additional scriptures!
The children of God must daily keep pressing toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in our Lord Jesus Christ!
We have to be bold, stay encouraged and endure always like a good soldier in Christ.
Stay strong my brother in the Lord!

"Is this that (which) you were looking for?" was the voice I heard from a distance in a cloud many years ago.
Beside me a lamb with eyes like a human and similar to the eyes on the Egyptian stone that I saw in a photo several years later.

Dear Philip Christian, Thank you! It does seem as long as time on earth continues that Satan can run to and fro even partially bound by the Gospel which is the finished work of Jesus at Calvary. His time is short now and his end will be sudden without mercy. God's faithful Church will prevail and many souls that have died the first death which is to sin, will with Jesus have everlasting life as a Holy, consummated marriage in Heaven. While time remains, Satan can suggest to the mind to do this or that but the True Christian saint knows to turn the mind the place of refuge at their born again experience and the comforting peace in their bosoms by God's grace and reign of Jesus Christ.
Philip Christian Parks's comment on 2021-04-15 07:12:51:
Satan (Rom. 16:20) = "Satan" is the proper name of the devil and translates from the Greek (transliterated "Satanas"; pronounced Sat-an-AS").
The name "Satan" means "adversary" (cp. 1Pet. 5:8) who opposes GOD and CHRIST, HIS Church, and every believing saint by any and all means and resources possible.
The New Testament most often identifies Satan as "the Devil" which literally means "the slanderer or false accuser". Slanders and false accusations are just two methods Satan uses against GOD's people.
Philip Christian Parks's comment on 2021-04-15 07:11:02:
"the GOD of Peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly"; v.20 =
There exists a perpetual spiritual warfare between GOD's People and Satan. If Satan cannot destroy Christians, he certainly desires to make them spiritually impotent, or worse, to cause turmoil within the church by destroying their peace.
Paul's expression, "under your feet shortly", may allude to Israel's victory over the five kings of principle cities, led by "Adonizedek, king of Jerusalem". Joshua humiliated them (Jos. 10:24-25).
The verb "bruise" had a far more powerful and descriptive meaning in ancient times, for it literally means to irreparably and permanently break or crush to death.
Paul reminded the Roman saints, and the saints of all ages, of JEHOVAH GOD's pronounced condemnation on Satan for tempting Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3:15). There, GOD proclaimed HIS Ultimate SEED of the woman (Eve), namely LORD JESUS CHRIST "shall bruise {a DIVINE guarantee} thy (Satan's) head."
Here, the word "shortly" does not speak of the occurrence within the very near future, but rather, when GOD does bruise Satan, HE will do so in a very quick fashion.
The word "shortly" translates from the from the Greek adverb root (transliterated "tachu"; pronounced "takh-OO"), and derives English nouns such as "taxi" and "tachometer."
The adverb implies that when GOD does "bruise Satan", the event will occur instantaneously and nothing will hinder it, nor will Satan have time to react.
Of note, CHRIST used the same adverb to describe HIS Second Coming (Rev. 22:7, 12, 20). The adverb could mean "suddenly", "without delay", "soon", and "speedily".
Bro Barney's comment on 2021-04-15 06:35:08:
Dana,
My grandson had a similar question. "If God knew that Adam would fall and bring death into the world, why did He create us?"
My answer was "Love." God wanted someone to love and be loved by. Why did you have children? Even though God knew of all the bad that would happen by creating man, He concentrated on the good; the love He would give and the love He would receive in return.
He gave man the ability to choose because you cannot have love without choice. Without choice you have robots. So in God's great wisdom He saw man failing and prepared a way for him to be redeemed. All for the purpose of love.
Joh 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
God bless

Hi Adam,
As I'd just like to reply to your post and just to bring peace. Like I stated how I agree with Jesse on his view I also agree with you on this. As you give solid reasons in you posts. How even angels have been known to have sinned and turn from God.
Me giving the answer of "yes and no" to this question of OSAS I'm sure would not hold up well to most. Though as I stated that God knows who shall endure until the end as in Matthew 24:13 being they that shall be saved. The Lord knowing His sheep. Though we as men should not take this situation lightly at all. Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow. As we have been bought with a price and we are His children 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. To live by His Will not our own and to follow our Lord Jesus Christ with zeal.
Taking this in the way of the parable of the sower in Matthew 13:18-23, seems to be accurate. In that those who fall away may have not even been truly saved in the first place. Though only God can really answer that truthfully.
We must strive to not lose our savor as our Lord told us. To run the race till the end keeping the faith.
Again I also side with you in that this is no small matter to take lightly as some may today. Just reading through the first three chapters of Revelation and seeing how Jesus Christ spake unto the churches. Having good things to say and bad things to get them to repent of and focus on Him. Sometimes I say to some people "Would you want the Lord to be happy with you or disappointed in you"?
We have been Blessed with free will. This is what makes people who endure till the end even more special. With a pure heart. To one day be glorified and be with our Lord where He is. Amen.

My apologies for that mistake my sister Toni. Forgive me.
I very much appreciate your touching replies.
Just as you stated in Matthew 22:14. That those of us who truly accept Jesus Christ as our Salvation and give our lives to Him. I believe have been chosen by God and are very precious to Him. As He is everything to us and knows our hearts. All being important members of the body of Christ. Not that I was trying to boast or anything when I stated that to him. Just what was in my heart. I was surprised when I heard the reply I received about that detail.
Here are a couple other Scriptures of being "chosen". Ephesians 1:4, 2 Thessalonians 2:13, 1 Peter 2:3-5.
God Bless you my sister in Christ.
Adam's comment on 2021-04-14 20:25:54:
Dear Sherry,
It appears you're receiving mostly responses that de-emphasize obedience. I do not believe once saved always saved, because of Matthew 12:22-32 and so many other verses. I think if that was true Jesus would not have continually warned his followers (Christians) over and over through parables and stories about obedience and keeping His commandments and avoiding sin. It takes effort. It literally addresses this already in the Bible- saying that people used it as a license to sin and "abuse" grace: Jude 1:4, Hebrews 10:26, James 2:14-26, John 14:15, James 2:19. I fully believe all the verses others shared with you above, but unfortunately it appears most are sharing an imbalanced perspective. The Word speaks for itself and does not say once saved, always saved. Christians can and do turn from the faith, unfortunately, and sometimes a % go in the complete opposite direction and do horrific things, just like any other person can who does evil and follows the world or satan. I'm responding, because I think it's important that you not listen to men, but to the Word and pray and ask God for wisdom that you will know the truth. There are many false prophets and fake news being spread and we know who is behind that. God bless...

I would suggest reading the whole chapter, also Hebrew chapter 11, but these are just a couple, throughout the NT. I hope this helps
Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
Toni's comment on 2021-04-14 19:35:06:
I'm Sister Toni by the way (LOL).
But, it's so refreshing to read someone speak God's Word in truth, especially in the times we live in, where it seems so many people are moving away from sound doctrine.
By the way, I wanted to affirm what you said about being chosen. I think you mentioned in a post that someone corrected you and said people are called.
But, I was just reading today where the Word of God says, "Many are called but few chosen." (Matthew 22:14) So, lots of people are called, but only those who walk away from the world and take a stand for Christ and walk in Him daily, are chosen. Thank God for being a chosen vessel in which the Lord can use and dwell in!

There's a link out on the all red page that says: Become A Believer.
It answers 99% of some of your questions. I know when you are a new believer, it's kinda daunting to find everything in one place. Start reading in the book of John; and then back up and read Matthew, Mark and Luke. Pick up again in the book of Romans. This is where we find most of the answers.

We are here to bring praise to his name, for his goodwill and pleasure. God is Sovereign, we need him, not the other way around. I tell you my friend read his word, pray the answer will always come just as he sees fit.
Below are some verses that cover this topic
Philippines 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure
Ephesians 1:5-6 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved
Ephesians 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
2 Thessalonians 1:10-12 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear Dana, what is your question?
Dana's comment on 2021-04-14 17:19:34:
We are a Christian family. Having raised our children in an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church. My grown daughter, who no longer lives at home, had a question that I could not give or think of a satisfactory answer. My Pastor's wife could neither think of an answer that was adequate in explanation. The most I could come up with was that we are here, so God has friends.......aka to fellowship with Him. That is not going to be satisfactory for her. Does anyone have a better explanation? Thank you for your help.

Jesse's comment on 2021-04-14 13:48:39:
Bro Barney,
If I may add a little more to the truth you have shared, I believe there are only two types of people in this world, saved and unsaved. A person is either a slave to Jesus Christ or a slave to sin, no in-between. I believe that salvation is a present-tense condition of everyone who has been born of God's Spirit. A true believer who is being led by God's Spirit would never think it is okay to commit sin or to live a sinful lifestyle.
There are many who claim to be Christians but have never been born of the Spirit of Christ. They may go to church religiously and participate with the believers and give the appearance of being a believer, but still be void of God's Spirit dwelling within. Those are the ones who eventually walk away. To the others in the church who assumed that person was saved, they will say "See, he walked away and denounced the whole thing, so he lost his salvation.
This was the same with Judas Iscariot. He was part of the twelve but he was evil from the start. Judas was never saved and then lost his salvation. Jesus chose an evil man to fulfil the scripture saying that He would be betrayed. When Jesus said have not I chosen you all, and one of you is a devil, none of the other 11 knew that it was Judas. But Jesus knew, and that is why He chose Judas.
I shared earlier about the people in the book of Hebrews who were being "enlighted" to the truth, but later on turned and walked away. Those were Hebrew/Jewish people. They were never saved, but people want to use verses in Hebrews to show that salvation can be lost. I know of a couple of verses in Hebrews that are being used to show that salvation can be lost, Hebrews 6:4 and Hebrews 10:26, and also one in Peter's writings, but none of them is talking about saved people losing their salvation.
The bible speaks about those who profess to be Christian and later on walk away from it all. That's given to us in (1 John 2:19). They walk away because they were never saved to begin with!
