Whatever your soul recognizes most seems to be where your heart is. Serve God wholeheartedly, allow His spirit to lead you and you will leave a focus life in God.

God provides...God loves us all as we are, never give up and think we doomed because of our sin. Pray daily and dialogue with our father, confess our sins to him and ask him for strengh so we may turn away from sin and be faithful to the gospel.Money is a tool or a means to own a home, buy food, etc but the Lord provides if it is his will for our lives. Amen

Mammon properly defined is worldly wealth. When we serve God he will ensure that all our needs are supplied. When we do our own thing we have to supply our own needs. Remember, what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet lose his own soul.

We are going to serve something. The love of money is the root of all evil. Money is not evil we need money to get by on. The love of the money is the evil. Money is the primary goal for the love of it at what you think it can buy you. Money answereth all things and it will get you up on the ladder in this world. When the money runs out so will your friends . You will love the one and count the other as little as nothing !!!

Olabode's comment on 2014-07-10 01:07:59:

Mammon in this context means 'money ' that is, we cannot serve money and God at the same time. Is either we serve money forget about God or serve God forget about money. But, i will advice you to serve God, he is the giver of all things.

When God prompts me to go on a missions trip but I can't because a co-worker already has that time off...at that moment, I realize that I am serving Mammon...yes, I am loving God and despising my job. Now it is up to me to believe for God's wisdom and to find "knowledge of witty inventions" with the ultimate goal of creating enough passive residual income so that I can be financially free, no longer trading my time for money and able to be available every time the Master calls.

Jesus isn't condemning Money; rather the LOVE of money. You can only serve (LOVE) one Master...

Why should we not acknowledge people who excel at their fields, whatever that field. I do not feel it is my place to judge if someone should take money or how much they should take for the sport they play. I believe God is loving and gave us many beautiful gifts in life. I believe one of the gifts he gave us is the ability to take a skill level above that of other creatures and I believe that to truly acknowledge and serve God I need to acknowledge this. I do not believe it is up to me to judge what that person is paid or if their heart is clean in their acceptance of this pay. It is my job in my opinion to ensure that I am settled in my heart with the monies that I receive and that I act in a way personally to honour to God.

Amen Wayne! It seems to me that the desire for success in this world has seeped into the hearts. We have lost the context of scriptures.

tom's comment on 2013-01-31 08:24:11:

When we do not place God first in our lives, when we do not allow his spirit to rule our thoughts, when we do not apply his word to every choice we make, what are we truly seeking? Seek first the kingdom of God and all this will be added to you. It amazes me how far the world has fallen away, just look around, pride everywhere, entertainment has taken over every aspect of our lives, our idol is the life we live in this flesh. God says love this life and you will lose life, well then the vast majority alive today are dead, and do not even know it. It like a spiders web consisting of every facet of life, all based on the all mighty dollar, the holly wood industry calls it being creative, aka talented, same with the music industry, sports too with their hall of fame, all being paid astronomical amounts of money, and we call them STARS. No one considers themselves lost because they are rich, but just how rich are they? What do you think Jesus thinks about everything I have mentioned? The world is spinning out of control, people really have no concept of what a treasure is, being rich is, FOR WHAT DOES IT PROFIT A MAN (OR WOMAN) IF HE(OR SHE) GAINS THE WHOLE WORLD BUT LOSES HIS SOUL?
