I love this scripture, because man will let you down quite often and it shows us the importance of always believing in and trusting God in all of our everyday lives especially in the times of trouble. Man lets you down its a very weary thing, its best to just put all of our trust in our savior Jesus Christ.

It's expressing the core of pain or discomfort of being betrayed by dishonesty. When a person's true intentions are revealed and they will, it's an uncomfortable and sometime painful experience. Most importantly, is the phrase "in a time of trouble" that means, it's a time that you did them to come through for you for sure. But that's why God teaches us to put not our confidence or trust in man, but in the almighty sovereign maker. He's not a man that he should lie nor repent - Jesus is the sure friend.
