Philippians 4:6,7: "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

That great Scripture being penned by the apostle holed up & bound in chains in prison, serves as a good reminder to us to "cast all of our care upon the Lord". It is certain that the events of the past days(s) cannot be changed and those of the future cannot be known, but voluntarily handing over the things outside our knowledge & control to a merciful, loving God Who does know & can handle them perfectly, is the best thing we can ever do. It is one thing to carefully & prayerfully consider the difficulties we're in, seeking wisdom from the Lord as to how to proceed, but when we allow that matter to constantly oppress the mind, taking away our joy, our hope & even our sleep, then this undermines the Grace of God for the believer & also to the deterioration of the mind & body.

It has always been the work of God's Spirit to bring a restless, suffering soul to a point of restful peace in Christ. Worry, agitation in spirit & irrational decisions come from one who has refused the Spirit's help, preferring to use one's own wisdom. This can never bring the Peace of God in one's life. Isaiah 30:15 well says, "For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not." Loosely translated for today: 'salvation from our struggles can only be found in coming first to the Lord & leaving it all with Him; our spiritual strength comes only by tenaciously holding onto a quiet confidence in God's great Wisdom & Power, that which He requires of us'.

Thank you for sharing your testimony of God's special ministry to your life during the times you felt you were imprisoned in but now rejoicing in His freedom.

weeping, sorrow all these are only for a short while. when you are discouraged, afraid or mourning, you are in darkness because nothing matters to you anymore. But know that this will only last for a few hours and then light will shine. After all darkness lasts from 8pm to 5am i.e. roughly 10 hours. remember sunshine will ultimately come as darkness will not be permanent. Hence joy will come bubbling in the morning. Be joyous in the Lord nothing comes to Him from behind.

Only tears can express how befitting this Psalm is to the person like me that have gone through difficulty times in life. No matter how terrible the afflictions may be, they are just for the night and come morning of joy there shall be joy forever. Let us comfort and encourage one another with this psalm. There is always a price to pay in waiting on God as in prayer , when a heaviness can exist for us the "night " , but the reward of our patience and endurance will often be filled with joy when the cry of our heart is answered the "morning " !

This is exactly what I was looking for. It hit me right to heart. The devil has been just attacking me and my family like crazy and now we are moving out with my mom. I am so scared and this verse helped me out. Teaching me that anger is not the answer and weeping and sorrow will last for the night but that joy WILL come in the morning! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!

WHAT I GET FROM THIS SCRIPTURE IS THAT OUR HEART COULD ME SO FULL OF HURT AND PAIN ,BUT ITS JUST FOR A MOMENT AND IF WE LIVE AND WALK IN GOD'S WORD WE WILL HAVE JOY FOR A LIFETIME...

In Psalm 30 vs 5,
There 4 things to note.
1) Do not provoke God with your lifestyle,
2) Forget your (past) sorrow,
3) Ask, for joy to be full,
4) Forever be in His presence; not only in church, also in privacy--- in your thought, words, deeds or action.

Timothy Wayne George's comment on 2013-03-02 06:27:31:

Jehovah God is angry for a moment, but His favor is for a life time. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. King David has just cried out to God to heal him, and to save him from his enemies. The dust cannot praise Him, so God has healed the King, and all the pain of the night has turned into praise dancing. No matter what we go through in life, God is faithful, and He inhabits the praises of His people. So just keep on praising God even in times of discipline, for the weeping of the night will turn into joy in the morning.
