through God our savior Jesus Christ he sent an angel a message to John to let us know what is to come in the future when he comes back he lays out in detail for what we are to look for and we have a choice to either believe in him and do his word and inter the kingdom of heaven upon our demise or to look at he signs and choice to follow the way of the world the devil and spend eternity hell

Out of all these definitions on Revelation 1:1, you got every word correct. No one sees the truth because they have a problem with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ being our precious God and Creator. There is one verse that sticks out in my mind, who did Paul preach? Jesus. Read Acts 17:23. This is just one of many.

This passage put simply says that, this book will reveal who Christ is and the authority given to him. It goes on to say that this writing will show Christ's followers what the future holds. Finally, it says that God sent this message via an angel and to provide signs of His coming to John.

"he sent and signified it by his Angel". Why does everyone ignore this and then assume that the figure whom John see's is Jesus? From the plain text it seems that The Father gave the revelation to Jesus, who then relays it to John via his Angel. So when he says "I" he is not speaking of himself, but of God.
And the figure that is described is the angel, not Jesus. Can anyone explain this to me?

Jade's comment on 5/01/2012 brings an anomaly into my mind which has since I was a tiny boy, confounded me entirely. The "trinity" (Father, Son and Holy spirit/ghost) are impossibly one, in my mind. For while Jesus was on the stake, and died, the Father was above. While Jesus was in the womb, the Father certainly was not. And during creation, Jesus was God's first creation - and he sat at his right hand and heard his Father eventually say "Let us create man in our own image". The plural is way more than implied.

I understand that God, the Father (YAWEH, Jehova) is "from everlasting to everlasting" and he created all that followed. I understand that his son Jesus about oncompleted a mission on earth - and endured the test of temptation from Satan in the wilderness for 40 days. Jesus had as much choice as anyone else to side with Satan and become powerful beyond dreams on Earth - but like Satan, would have fallen from his Father's grace.

So please, could the pool of enlightened souls out there clear up this anomaly?

Rev.1:1 the word " revelation " means to unvail,or to uncover. When you see the word "The" at the begining of a sentence pertaining to the scriptures means "positively one". The Revelation of Jesus Christ, meaning to unvail or to The uncover. What did God give to Jesus? The things that were to come to pass,What were the things?"Prophecy"was to shortly come to pass;and he sent and signified it by his angel, Who was his angel? The Bible was written in 2 languages the old testament-Hebrew the new testament-Greek THE greek def. says "angel" means a pastor 0r messenger. The hebrew def. means to despatch as a deputy;a messenger;spec,of God angel (also a prophet, priest or teacher-ambassador,angel,king,messenger. In John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Ho'ly Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,he shall teach you all things, bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. so the angel is the 'holy ghost' sent unto his servant John

Jade Merkevicius's comment on 2011-01-05 09:01:25:

Revelation 1:1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God ( Jesus ) gave him ( John ),...and he (Jesus who is God) sent an angel.
Revelation 22:6 The God ( Jesus ) of the spirits of the prophets sent his angel.
Revelation 22:16 I Jesus ( God ) have sent my angel.
So, the question is who sent the angel to John according to Revelation 1:1,22:6,16? Jesus who is God did.
So Jesus who is God,gave him ( John ) the Revelation of himself and reaveled it through an angel that God ( Jesus ) sends to John.

Revelation a type of news happed at the recent came from God or in heaven gaven to Jesus and sent to his Angel and recieved by John as his servant, and john sent to Jesus followers.Tottaly Jesus is also reciever not God.Why it must shortly? and it come to pass?:for example:in our future we have satillite + reciver+ signals + Televisions only split by the second we collect news.We bilieve god can do anything but it is limitated:why cannot directly send to John?because john is not under by spirit:other examples god create the biggest planet in universe it call the Sun. The Sun is 20 times bigger than to Earth, and made the whole universe:so how more than biggest the creator in to the planet and universe, thats why, God cannot step here directly in Earth he made all things together with seven spirit but limited. So he made like ladder to step by step going to the earth. it is common since if you made sand ball from beach pure sand and if you step this so what will happen ?it will distroy,God is a very very clean and light and we are sinner if he is step to the earth we are distroy totaly by made of fire. it is simple explaination in short cut way..
