If you read verse 20 first, it makes better sense. Adam had not seen a suitable mate for him.

Fred Scanlan's comment on 2020-12-17 01:55:11:

You have used the scripture well. Our flesh and the world, always tries and quell the spirit of God that lives within us. The love that we so dearly need is His spirit. We deceive ourselves when we live outside His spirit that is in Christ! The holy spirit uses the word charity, because it is the mobility , or the transfer, of so great love! It is no longer just noise! It is a living word.

Praise God.

You keep it up. The world needs Christians who won't give up and who will stand in the days of trial. The days of trial are coming.

STUDYING TO SHARE's comment on 2020-12-16 18:06:06:

I don't think that way. The Bible is not guilty of confusing or getting people off balance.

This is Daniels age of information: Daniel 12:9-10. It is a mystery that is opening, NOW.

I am not lecturing anyone specifically, ok? Most hindrances to Bible Study is NOT asking the Holy Spirit to HELP you to find your answers.

I'm old, lol. I study every day. If it's a disease, I have it. It's personally rewarding and captivates me to dig even deeper to get at some truth. You need Bibles with study reference columns in the center of each page; you need a concordance; you need skill at Googling: Commentaries, History, Teachings, Maps and Genealogy Charts. I use everything.

I watch very little TV. When it's quiet, I hear the leadings of the Holy Spirit much clearer. He is the most interesting Person I've ever known.

You have many good questions. You're being called to Joel 2:28-29, 1 Corinthians 12. Galatians 3:25-28. You're blessed so keep studying, but remember to encourage yourself in Jesus. Sit in the sun, listen to some praise music, contemplate the weather that God moves around (Job). Smile at one person.

In the 4 Gospels, 4 men, different occupations came to listen to Jesus. Jesus invited them to follow him. There's a prophesy in Psalms about Judas; who would betray Jesus. Mary Magdalene and other women who cooked & washed robes, etc, followed Jesus. Paul who was never married , had women that helped with various things. Thats where Googling skills come into play. Read a historians comments too.

Jesus was a story teller which is something I love too. You have to know a story to tell it to the unsaved. My friends, we are ALL called to do the work of an evangelist. Some call it gift of gab, but I call it sharing a story, in the power of the Holy Spirit that brings the message of Christ to a heart ready to be planted by Gods Word. Plant, Water or reap harvest. (Matthew 10:27)

A love gift to you: Malachi 3:16-18

Mishael

I think one day we will know all or capable of knowing all, we have been given an ernest of the spirit, 1st corinthians 13:9-12 says for now we know in part, and we prophesy in part. but when that which is perfect come that which is in part shall be done away. when i was a child, i spake as a child, i understood as a child, i thought as a child: but when i became a man, i put away childish things. for now we see through a glass, darkley; but then face to face: now i know in part; but then shall i know even as also i am known. i think god has equipt us enough in his word for this time down here on earth... and i dont think we loose any part of the stories in the bible with the different translations, god has spreaded his main msg precept upon precept, line upon line, a little here and a little there, you can tare a page out, over all it wouldnt change its main theme. the msg is intergrated, as we read with faith the holyspirit guide us to all truth.

Fred Scanlan's comment on 2020-12-16 15:31:54:

I believe, that a yearning heart to know the power of God, the Love of Jesus Christ is what the Lord wants from us. This is, what faith is! "To know Him is to love him". Sacrifice of yourself, the giving of yourself to him. Jesus says we are to be like children! Sometimes hard to do. I wonder if one can ever really no Him as he is! Could ever give that much of yourself. Luther spoke of these things, and always reaffirmed, salvation is without the works of the law! But, we are saved by His grace! Loving Him.

Chris's comment on 2020-12-16 14:28:04:

I doubt if it was ever God's intention to have all aspects of history, both personal & political history, be revealed in His Holy Word. What He has provided for us is for a reason & for a season, so the things that are revealed may be useful for our knowledge & manner of living here on Earth. We would certainly love to know much more, as you say, to fill in the "gaps", but that is not required for now. There is also a certain exercise of trust & expectancy that comes when we simply have to admit that we don't have all the answers to our questions, but that God has & His only expectation of us is that we learn & live according to His revealed Word. He won't accuse anyone for ignorance when the Word doesn't reveal more information to us, but we stand before Him if we fail to obey what He has asked of us. And I believe there's plenty in the Word of God for us to learn from, revise in our hearts & fulfil in our lives.

And besides, is it even possible that everything be written about biblical people, places & events? Just of Jesus' Life, we read in John 21:25, "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written." How our hearts & minds yearn to know more about our Lord & Saviour, yet that earnest waiting & expectation can only grow in us as we await that great day when faith becomes sight & we behold the One Whom we love, but Who first loved us by giving us of Himself completely. The spirit of Word tells me that as we long to see Him & be with Him, is also Jesus' longing for His blood-bought bride to be at His Side throughout eternity. Let's not focus on what we might be missing out from the Word's 'limited history' revealed to us, but to delight in what God has chosen to show us now for our benefit, that also instils excitement of what is to come later, both in knowledge & experience.

Jaimie Braswell's comment on 2015-08-18 02:50:18:

Bless us all. I prefer to believe that God wants us to read and study so that we may come to our own interpretations. I believe he enjoys the banter but to try and force others to your own interpretations is not the goal. It is one man's understanding to himself with God is sacred. I mean, how many religions pray to the God of Abraham?More than I can count, but I believe a man finds God on and in his own environment. The similarities I find mind boggling. I don'the know how anyone can deny that.

Stephen Glaydor's comment on 2015-06-29 06:05:36:

whether by 'addition and or subtraction. There shouldn 't be any human implication whether by empty space. Don 't add or subtract, simple. The word of God is settle and forever settle. Apocrypha, OK! I love it 's saying, but can 't be compel to The present holy bible sayings. I Think there was evidence that man wrote it. but the Holy Bible is written by aspiration from Almighty God. Thanks

Shuree's comment on 2014-05-22 13:25:59:

I think it 's pretty obvious that the words written are permanent and that there wasn 't a need to tell people not to take away.

Brian Parnell's comment on 2013-02-16 08:21:46:

While it can be regarded as an admonition against altering the words of this prophecy, it is far too often taken as a warning against altering the Bible in total, or at all. If that were true it would explain a lot of the woes befalling the Catholic Church after their removal of the Apocrypha. But obviously the writer was referring to his own writings, NOT the Holy Bible...which did not exist for another 1600 years.

Evang. Alleine Moseley's comment on 2012-03-29 06:30:26:

He says, Your name. Yes your blessings as well. God doesn't bless disobedience but the verse specifically states, "Your Name" shall be REMOVED out of the lambs book of life. We all know you're name has to be written within. God bless
